Hello everyone! This here blog is my great attempt at keeping in touch and letting those who want to know what is happening know what is happening. I love you all and I hope you are having an awesome summer! For those of you that do not know where I am or what I am doing...here goes: I am with an organization called Iris Ministries, started by Heidi and Roland Baker. They had a desire to serve the poorest of the poor, the "least of these," as well as see the whole gospel preached. THey wanted to see just how great the love of the Father is as they open up their hands to Him and say, "use me." They have seen the blind walk, the deaf hear, and the dead raised. Thier simple practice of ministry is loving the one in front of them and not getting overwhelmed. They go out on the street 3 times a week to bring back orphans who have been thrown away. I will be going to a school for 10 weeks that will allow me to get a glimpse of what they experience with cross cultural ministry and in serving the poor. Also, we will be trained in spiritual warfare and intercession. Please pray that my heart will be opened and mind will be renewed. Blessings, Steve.
This is a picture from a local Catholic Orphanage that Robert has done some painting for. It only has about 20 children, so it is very intimate.
